The music is the only part of the wedding the guests talk about the day after. It is also the only part that can go wrong in real time, in front of everyone. That is why a wedding DJ is not the same as a club DJ: the job is less about building a set and more about reading a room where the guests are between 4 and 84 years old.

Prices for a wedding DJ in Stockholm

Playing times: Usually 21:00 to 02:00, often with ceremony music and background music for dinner as extras. Typical size: 60 to 150 guests.

Four things to keep in mind

• Book someone who has done at least twenty weddings. Club experience does not carry over automatically.
• Decide the first dance, the timing of the thank-you speech and the last song in advance; the DJ can handle the rest.
• Ask what happens if the DJ falls ill. A good wedding DJ has a name to call, and it should be in the contract.
• Spend ten minutes on a list of songs you definitely do not want to hear. It matters more than the request list.

In Stockholm

June and August are completely booked up with weddings, and December with Christmas dinners and company parties. The student week in early June also takes a large part of what is available for a few days.
