Prices for a DJ for New Year's Eve in Stockholm

Four things to keep in mind
- Book before 1 October. After that it is about who is left, not who you want.
- Make midnight clear in the contract: who plays what, and who leads the countdown.
- Expect a finishing time of 03:00 or 04:00, and price overtime in advance.
- A taxi home for the talent on New Year's night is a real cost. Raise it beforehand, not after.
In Stockholm
June and August are completely booked up with weddings, and December with Christmas dinners and company parties. The student week in early June also takes a large part of what is available for a few days. If you want your first choice on a Saturday in June, your request should be posted by February at the latest.
Stockholm is Sweden's most expensive market for DJs, and also the most fragmented. The price is driven less by skill than by logistics: a gig in the city centre with a loading bay and a lift rarely costs as much as the same evening at an archipelago venue, where the equipment goes out by boat and comes back at three in the morning.

Why are DJs more expensive on New Year's Eve?
Because the supply is fixed and the demand is concentrated in a single day and night. It is also a night that often goes on until four in the morning, with a journey home that is hard and expensive to arrange.
When is the last chance to book?
You can always find someone, but from the middle of December it is about who is free rather than who suits you. The quality of the match falls sharply.
