Short answer first
It depends on the evening, and each DJ sets their own price. The word “evening” means different things: four hours in a small venue with equipment that is already there is not the same job as a whole evening with their own sound, lights, planning beforehand and travel to a venue outside town. Describe the evening for free, and DJs who match send their prices in an offer.
What makes the price vary
Playing time. How many hours the DJ plays, and when the evening starts and ends. Setting up and packing down come on top of the playing time.
Date and season. Saturdays in the wedding summer, the student weeks in June and December with Christmas dinners and company parties are evenings many people want to book at once. That can show in the price, and the DJs you would most like may already be booked. Post your request in good time.
Equipment. A sound system and lights are a real cost that somebody has to carry, carry in and set up. Say in the request what the venue already has, so the DJs know what they are pricing.
Travel. Each talent says which cities they take work in. A venue outside town adds time to the evening, and that time can be included in the price or be a line of its own; the offer says which.
Type of event. A wedding with music for the ceremony, speeches on a microphone and a request list is a different job from a club night where the music only has to play. Experience often shows in something that is harder to price: an evening that holds together.
What is included, and what isn't
There is no package that is always included. Each DJ decides what the price covers, and the offer says so: the playing time, the equipment, the travel and whatever else belongs to the evening. What the offer does not state is not included.
VAT, F-tax and what ends up on the invoice
A performer who sells their own performance directly is, under the Swedish VAT Act, generally exempt from VAT. The exemption falls away as soon as somebody else sells the performance in their own name. That is why Talentsio never sells a performance in its own name: the talent sets the VAT on their own price, and you see the rate and the amount before you pay. The price on the offer is what you pay: Talentsio's commission is taken on the talent's side and is not added.
How to compare two offers properly
Ask three questions and write down the answers. How many hours are included? Who brings sound and lights? Is travel included? Once the three are answered, two offers that looked different can be the same evening at the same price. If something in an offer is unclear, write to the talent and ask.
How to get real prices
Describe the evening once: the date, the place, how long and what you want. It is free. DJs who match send their own prices in an offer, and you compare them before you decide.
